As a member-owned electric cooperative, Trinity Valley Electric Cooperative is governed by a Board of Directors made up of local members who represent the communities we serve. These directors help provide oversight, strategic direction, and long-term planning for the cooperative while keeping the best interests of members at the center of every decision. You can find the official election notice in the June Texas Co-op Power magazine.
The 2026 Board Election process is now underway for:
- District 1
(Incumbent: Carolyn Minor) - District 4
(Incumbent: Derrick Hoelscher) - District 5
(Incumbent: Ed Reeve)
The election will take place in conjunction with TVEC’s Annual Membership Meeting on Thursday, October 8, 2026.
While all members may vote for all board seats, you must live in the district that you will represent. Your board district is noted on your billing statement, or you may contact TVEC member services to confirm your board district.
What Does the Board of Directors Do?
TVEC’s Board of Directors helps establish policies, review long-term planning, oversee the financial health of the cooperative, and support decisions that impact reliability, service, and the future of the co-op.
TVEC operates under the cooperative business model, meaning the cooperative is owned by the members it serves. Board members are elected by fellow members to represent the voice of the membership.
Board directors represent specific geographic districts, but ultimately serve the interests of the entire cooperative membership.
Interested in Serving?
Only TVEC members may vote in board elections or serve on the TVEC Board of Directors.
Members interested in having their name placed before the nominating committee to represent their district must complete a nomination form.
To obtain a nomination form, contact:

Completed forms must be received by 4:45 p.m. on July 1.
Who can run for the board & for how long?
To serve on the TVEC Board of Directors, a person must:
- Be a TVEC member for at least 12 months
- Live in the district they want to represent
- Receive electric service from TVEC in that district
- Be in good standing with the cooperative
- Not be a current employee or recent former employee
- Not have a felony conviction
- Not have conflicts of interest with competing utilities or businesses
Board members serve three-year terms, and districts rotate through elections so not all seats are up at the same time.

Why It Matters
Electric cooperatives are different from investor-owned utilities because members have a voice in how the cooperative operates. Board elections are one of the most important ways members participate in that process.
Directors help guide decisions related to:
- Cooperative policies
- Financial stewardship
- System reliability
- Long-term planning
- Member-focused priorities
At TVEC, local representation matters because the people helping guide the cooperative are also members of the communities we serve.
Are you the next TVEC Board Director? You could be.
