Trinity Valley Electric Co-op
1 a.m May 17 - About 62 members remain without power in the Elmo area, with crews working to restore those this morning. 9:25 p.m. - Crews have restored power to a majority of the outages in this area. Around 200 members are still without power while crews continue to get everybody back on.7 p.m. - power is being restored to areas affected by this outage. Two circuits are complete and TVEC crews are working on some issues found on the third circuit.5:15 p.m. - Current estimated time for re-energizing our lines in this outage is by 8 p.m. This is of course subject to change, and then there will likely be additional restoration work for our crews to do to get everyone back on. This has been a very complicated repair by our friends at Oncor, if we hear of any extension in this timeframe we will update here as soon as possible.1 p.m. - The current potential Oncor restoration times in this area range from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Our crews are continuing to work on outage restoration where power is available, ready to also work to restore this large outage as quickly as possible when Oncor crews get their damaged poles and equipment replaced. 8 a.m. - A large outage in the Lake Tawakoni, Cobb, Duck Cove area is expected to stretch into the afternoon. Extensive damage on the Oncor lines outside of our area must be repaired to get power back on. When power is restored to our lines we will be ready to take care of any outages that may exist on our side. We do not have a restoration time at thisThis is outage 1063 on our outage map, showing 929 meters affected. ... See MoreSee Less

5:30 p.m. May 16 - As we get move closer to 24 hours from the beginning of this event, the arrival of additional crews from neighboring co-ops and our contractors is really starting to make a dent in these widespread outages that remain. At this time about 130 outages remain affecting 2,200 members, including the large outage between Terrell and Wills Point. Find an update on that outage in a separate post. One area north of Walton along 19 will be out shortly while line crews remove a tree from the lines.Thank you again for your patience as we work this widespread damaging wind event.Update 8 a.m. - about 8,800 TVEC members remain without power, including a few large outages that have received extensive damage and many smaller outages scattered across the service area. TVEC crews and contractors are hard at work to get power on as quickly as possible. Update 4 a.m. - power has been restored to about 4,000 more members including parts of large outages north and south of Canton and outside of Seven Points. If your power has not been restored, please know that our crews and contractors are working through the outage as quickly as possible. The map is still very crowded but you can follow restoration progress in the outage center at TVEC.net. Update 2 a.m. - Power has been restored to about 8,000 members so far. Work continues despite additional thunderstorm activity in some areas. Please note that in a storm situation it is often impossible to give accurate restoration times, as crews must start at our substations and work outward from there. Partial restoration may occur for an area while another part of the same outage may require a pole replacement or tree removal that takes hours. (Compared to a single event outage like a car incident or single downed line where a single repair will get everyone back on at once.)Thank you for your patience as our crews and system operators work diligently to get everyone back on as quickly and safely as possible. Update 12:30 a.m. - some progress is being made but another storm is headed into Kaufman County that may slow things a bit. We currently have more than 20,000 members without power. It will take some time to assess each outage, check the full length of circuits and check that things are safe to re-energize. This post will be updated with general storm info. If we are able to post about any particular area or large circuit outage it will appear as a separate post. Report outages at 800-967-9324. During a large outage situation we cannot guarantee that your comment or message will be seen or reported promptly. The outage hotline or outage texting gets your outage directly into our system for restoration. Thanks!Update 11:30 p.m. - It appears our main office number may be affected by the storm as well. Please use 800-967-9324 for outage reporting. It looks like these storms moving in from the north are packing quite a punch. Crews will be responding to outages as quickly as possible. Two large outages are already active in northern Kaufman County and near Lake Tawakoni. Please report any outages at 800-967-9324. Never approach downed lines or trees contacting lines, as they may still be energized. ... See MoreSee Less
