Government Relations

As a member of Trinity Valley Electric Cooperative, you have the opportunity to contribute to the Action Committee for Rural Electrification (ACRE). ACRE is the grassroots political action committee of the nation’s electric cooperatives. ACRE represents the interests of the nation’s nearly 1,000 not-for-profit electric cooperative systems and their 37 million member-owners in rural, suburban and urban areas of the country.

In 2003, ACRE launched a new program, ACRE Co-op Owners for Political Action, to allow cooperative member-owners to voluntarily join the more than 27,000 individual contributions made each year from electric cooperative directors, managers and employees nationwide. The process by which candidates are chosen to receive ACRE contributions is rigorous, requiring the approval of state and national ACRE committees made up of cooperative directors, employees and statewide and national associations’ staff members. Contributions are made to political candidates, regardless of party affiliation, who will speak and protect the interest of electric cooperatives and their members.

You can join today with a yearly contribution of as little as $25.00. If you are interested in joining Co-op Owners for Political Action, please contact our office today. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding this vital program.

Voices for Cooperative Power (VCP) provides members from electric co-ops all over the nation with a platform to be involved in political advocacy of issues regarding the industry. Hundreds of thousands have already gathered together, made their voices loud, and helped push for legislation to benefit co-ops.

Join VCP today! It’s easier to have a say in energy policy decisions that impact you when you sign up online. Tri-County Electric Co-op may ask members to reach out to elected officials regarding certain issues that will benefit its membership and industry.
