TVEC Voting in the 2023 TVEC Board of Directors election begins September 6. All members should receive a copy of the ballot and voting instructions in the September issue of Texas Co-op Power magazine this week.

Why we vote: Unlike for-profit utilities, cooperatives are led by a board of directors made up of elected cooperative members. This helps to ensure that the co-op’s direction, goals and strategic planning are done with the members’ best interests at heart.

Another function of our election is to provide a quorum of members for our Annual Membership Meeting. Three percent of members voting constitutes a quorum so that business may be conducted at the meeting.

How to vote: Your board election ballot and reply envelope are included in your September issue of Texas Co-op Power magazine. New for this year is an easy online voting option. If we have your email address on file, you should also receive an invitation to vote in your inbox.

Pleaser remember, do not return your ballot to TVEC offices or include it with your bill payment. Ballots that come to our office will not be counted as valid ballots. Ballots MUST be returned to Survey and Ballot Systems, the firm conducting our election. A postage-paid envelope is included with the magazine if you prefer to vote by mail.

As a “Thank You” for participating, voting members will be entered into a drawing for cash prizes, including a top prize of $1,000. Winners will be announced at the TVEC Annual Meeting October 5, but you do not have to attend the meeting to win.

Thank you for being an active TVEC member!
