Hello TVEC Members and welcome to this news post, which includes the information we send out in our monthly E-Newsletter. If you are not on our email list already, I encourage you to update your account information to get any updates we send out. And in the case of any unexpected energy alerts or emergencies, we will be using Email, along with the website and social media, to get as much information to you as possible.

Winter seems to be here, at least in short spurts. As we work into the colder weather be sure to watch that thermostat, take care of the neighbors, animals and plants out there. And be safe with any space heaters, heat lamps and fireplaces. Home heating accounts for a large portion of house fires. Jack Endres Jack Endres Appointed to Fill District 7 Board Seat after David Lang’s Retirement The TVEC Board of Directors had big shoes to fill following the retirement of David Lang, an accomplished businessman who has served on the board representing district 7 since 2010. Per the co-op’s bylaws, the board must appoint another member to fill the seat for the remainder of his term. Jack Endres has accepted that role. You can find out more about Endres on the website here, and the February edition of Texas Co-op Power magazine will include more information from both Endres and Lang. Take Our Short Survey And Win! Capital Credits Update For those of you who were members in 1993 and/or since 2016-2020, your capital credit disbursement was on your bill mailed in December. If you are new to the co-op, here is an explainer about capital credits. If you happen to have friends or family members who are no longer members, please have them check to see if we have their correct mailing address. Those capital credits were mailed to the address we have on file and we have received many of those back in the mail. Any capital credit refunds that are not claimed within 3 years get turned over to the State of Texas. You can search claimittexas.org for old capital credits and other funds that you may have out there. TVEC System Inventory Continues in the Northern Part of the Service Territory Be on the lookout for employees of Davey Resource Group as they conduct our system inventory. The TVEC system inventory is well underway in Van Zandt and Kaufman counties at this time. If you see Davey Resource group trucks in your neighborhood, don’t be alarmed…they are helping us refine our system maps. Find more information about the system inventory on the website here. Member Portal Update Coming Soon New Design Aims To Be More User Friendly The TVEC Member Portal has a lot of great information and account management tools for you, but the current design looks a bit dated. (OK, more than a bit!) A new interface should make the online experience better starting in February. Check it out to see usage information, pay bills, set usage alerts and more! January Texas Co-op Power Did you miss your copy of Texas Co-op Power Magazine? If so you can always find it at tvec.net. This month includes an article on rescue dog training, the Texas A&M 12th Man tradition and lots of news from here at the co-op. Congratulations as well to TVEC member Amanda DeCesaro who won the $500 prize in this month’s recipe contest. That Chicken and Dumplings soup looks particularly good for the cold nights coming up.
