Are You Getting TVEC Emails?

Take a minute to make sure important TVEC notifications are reaching your inbox.

Earlier this year, TVEC shared that certain routine member notifications would be delivered by email whenever possible rather than through mailed postcards. The change helps us communicate efficiently while making responsible use of cooperative dollars as printing and postage costs continue to rise.

And please note that these informative emails are separate from billing and account notices. You may receive electronic billing statements, but that does not guarantee you are receiving non-billing related emails.

Now, we want to make sure those emails are actually reaching you.

So far in 2026, an estimated 20 notifications have been sent to approximately 13,000 member email addresses regarding work happening throughout the TVEC service area.

These notifications may include:

  • Pole inspections
  • Underground transformer connections
  • Line maintenance and upgrades
  • Planned outages
  • Tree trimming and vegetation management
  • Herbicide treatment

For a member-owned, not-for-profit electric cooperative, finding practical ways to communicate effectively while controlling costs benefits all of us.

Members without an email address on file will continue to receive applicable notifications by mail.

First, Make Sure We Have the Right Email Address

TVEC notifications are sent to the primary email address listed on your SmartHub account.

Not sure which email address is listed?

Log in to your SmartHub account and select:

Settings → Contact Methods

Check that your primary email address is current and is an inbox you regularly use.

While you’re there, it’s also a good time to make sure your phone number and other contact information are up to date.

Have You Ever Unsubscribed?

This is an important one.

If you’ve ever selected Unsubscribe at the bottom of a TVEC email, TVEC cannot simply add your email address back to the mailing list. This is true even if your email address is still correct and active in SmartHub.

You must complete the TVEC Email Resubscription Form to begin receiving those emails again.

Not sure if you’ve unsubscribed in the past? Go ahead and complete the form just in case.

If you’re still having trouble receiving TVEC emails after completing the resubscription process, contact us directly at memberrelations@tvec.coop and we’ll be happy to help.

Help Keep TVEC Out of Your Spam Folder

Member communications will come from tvecmemberalerts@tvec.coop or  tvecmemberupdates@tvec.coop.

We recommend adding this email address to your contacts or safe senders list. This can help your email provider recognize TVEC as a trusted sender and reduce the chance that an important notification ends up in your spam or junk folder.

Here’s how to add us on three common email providers:

Gmail
Open an email from TVEC. Hover over the sender’s name or email address and select Add to Contacts.

Outlook
Open an email from TVEC. Select the sender’s name or email address and choose Add to contacts.

Yahoo Mail
Open an email from TVEC. Select the sender’s name or email address and choose Add to contacts.

It’s also a good idea to periodically check your spam or junk folder. If you find a TVEC email there, mark it as Not Spam or Not Junk.

What Will We Send You?

Emails from tvecmemberupdates@tvec.coop are used to share information that helps keep you informed about your electric service and your cooperative.

In addition to notifications about pole inspections, planned outages, line work, vegetation management and other system activities, you can expect our Monthly Member Update, typically sent near the end of each month. Here’s a look at the August Member Update.

These updates provide a look at what’s happening and what’s ahead at TVEC, including topics such as:

  • Important dates and upcoming events
  • Electric safety information
  • Consider It Hot podcast recaps
  • Operation Round Up and community impact
  • Texas Co-op Power highlights
  • Cooperative programs and services
  • Employee and community features
  • Job opportunities
  • Office closures
  • Other news and information from around your cooperative

When important information can’t wait for our regular monthly update, we may send an additional email to keep you informed. This could include scam alerts, Board Election voting reminders, safety information, changes to member procedures, seasonal reminders, storm-related updates or other timely information you need to know.

Our goal isn’t to fill your inbox. It’s to make sure you have the information you need to stay connected to your cooperative.

Not Sure an Email Is Really From TVEC?

We understand that scam emails and impersonation attempts can make it difficult to know which messages to trust.

If you receive an email that appears to be from TVEC but something doesn’t look right, don’t click links, open attachments or provide personal information.

Instead, contact TVEC directly using contact information you know and trust.
