Restoration Process

When storms or accidents cause power outages, Trinity Valley Electric Cooperative crews follow a clear process to restore service as safely and quickly as possible. We first address dangerous situations like downed lines, then focus on critical services such as hospitals and water systems, followed by substations and main lines that bring power back to the largest number of members. Smaller tap lines and individual outages come last.

What to Know During an Outage

  • Report it: Use SmartHub or call TVEC.
  • Stay safe: Always assume all downed lines are live.
  • Plan ahead: Have an outage kit with flashlights, water, food, medicines, and pet supplies.
  • Help at home: Keep fridge/freezer closed, turn off major appliances, and use generators safely outdoors only.
